I am hear to attest that not all Sorority/Fraternity parties result in drunken debauchery (at least none that was reported to me on Monday) and destruction of property. The Alpha Delta Pi Sorority from Western Connecticut State University hosted their 2016 Formal at Tarrywile Mansion on Thursday, May 5th.
When first approached with the prospect of having their formal at our venue I admit I was a bit nervous so I did a bit of research; namely Elaina from Westwind Catering, the catering company that services all of WCSU’s on and off campus activities. Elaina was happy the sisters chose to have their event at the Mansion, she had all good things to say about this group.
Well that was a worry off of my mind and as the planning continued the sorority sisters who I met with to plan the event were all kinds of nice, polite and prompt to respond to any questions I had. Katie Appley ended up being my point of contact, she was a pleasure to work with and I hope the Sorority considers using us again for their future events.
I was not around for the set up since I had to pick my own daughter (sorority sister) up from college in New Hampshire. It was said that there was an abundance of gold glitter and the theme looked to be the Kentucky Derby, from the photo’s on Facebook I would have to say they had a good time.
Thanks to Alpha Delta Pi, Katie Appley and Elaina Mendes and her crew from Westwind for treating the Mansion with respect and leaving the place as you found it.
